U.S. Ryder Cup captain Curtis Strange said the toughest part of making Scott Verplank and Paul Azinger his two captain's selections was passing on Minnesota native Tom Lehman, a member of six of the past seven U.S. Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teams.
"That was the toughest phone call I had to make," Strange said Monday. "Tom has wonderful experience. He's a good person. But the bottom line is he hasn't played very well. He is not playing the way we all know Tom Lehman can play."
