Skip school this year and you could end up watching a video.
But you won't find this video at Blockbuster. Produced by the Hennepin County attorney's office, it features the county juvenile detention center and testimony from teenagers who used to skip school and now regret it.
It's part of a stepped-up effort by the county and schools in Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, St. Louis Park and other nearby districts to combat truancy.
The video, introduced Monday at a news conference at Henry High School in north Minneapolis, will be distributed to all secondary schools in Hennepin County. ...
