AUSTIN, Texas -- The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) announced last week that its pilot program for retail electricity choice was underway, with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (Ercot) moving control of its wholesale operations to a single control area.
The transfer will allow retail electric providers in the Lone Star State to move electricity to serve their customers across the Ercot grid. Ercot reported that all systems are functioning properly to ensure a successful pilot program before the full launch of retail competition ...
