2001 APR 27 - (NewsRx Network) -- Scientists at the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse's (NIDA) Intramural Research Program in Baltimore, Maryland, have confirmed for the first time in humans that chemically blocking the body's cannabinoid receptors can significantly reduce the effects of smoked marijuana.

The study appears in the April 14,2001, issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.
