Aug. 21--Construction is under way on a $2 million, 21,000-square-foot ski lodge at Canaan Valley Resort State Park, the state's oldest major ski area.
The new two-story structure, to be built on a prefabricated steel modular design, should be complete in time for the most of the 2001-2002 season, according to resort officials.
Guest Services Inc., the concessionaire that operates the park under contract to the state, is paying for the new lodge. Guest Services officials announced the new project on Monday, during the Legislature's interim committee ...
