Aug. 21--NORFOLK, Va.--One name turns up in just about every local conversation about the changes spawning tension within the funeral industry: Carlos Howard.
The Norfolk funeral director received national media attention in 1995 when he started selling caskets online for $200 over cost. Hailed as the first funeral director in the country to hit the Internet, Howard insists he has been punished by his profession ever since.
