Among those who love chocolate, many insist on what I would call the real deal: dark as night and just as bittersweet. And there are many others for whom that's a bit much, but who can't go a day without some milk chocolate. I get that.
White chocolate is much more subtle. Eaten by itself it doesn't have a lot of flavor, although it does have chocolate's wonderful texture and meltiness.
