THE CRIME
-JOANNE Lees, 27, and Peter Falconio, 28, quit their jobs in Britain to travel the world. Seven months into the trip they are driving on the Australian outback's desolate Stuart Highway when their VW camper van is flagged down.
-PETER gets out to talk to a man in a utility truck and they ask Joanne to rev the van. She hears a loud bang, then is bundled at gunpoint into man's truck where he binds her hands and feet.
