Squeaky clean Americans used to be in two categories: shower or tub people. Those who preferred showers day in, day out, were usually in a hurry.
Now the shower is described by bath designers as a destination for indulgence, just as elaborate and luxuriously appointed as spa tubs. New shower-power systems feature multiple showerheads and massage options.
Some new, high-end homes have large, open spaces for showering, not the old cramped enclosures. These shower mini-rooms lined with fancy tile or waterfall-washed river rock can even be designed for wheelchair access. There's at least a tile bench near the water action. ...
