Is There a Tower Crane in Your Future?
Manfred Marggraf, vice president of sales for American Pecco Corp., offers a statistic that points up the tower crane's popularity in Europe. In Switzerland, he says, a country with a population of about 6 million, an estimated 13,000 tower cranes are at work.
Throughout Europe, tower cranes are a familiar sight on projects that range from power plants and high-rise buildings to office complexes and factories. Even on the European countryside, it's not usual to see a contractor using a small tower crane to build a modest single-family home.
