Craig Burzych is an air traffic controller and president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association/Chicago-O'Hare Tower. He spoke with editorial writer Chris Bailey of the Daily Herald recently at O'Hare.
Q: Air traffic controllers are publicly on the record supporting additional runways at O'Hare. Can you explain current air traffic conditions, elaborate on how that contributes to late or canceled flights and explain how weather conditions affect operations?
