FREMONT, Ohio-In the wake of a fire that temporarily halted production at Latex Foam Products Inc.'s Ansonia, Conn., plant, Ludlow Composites Corp. has seized the moment, picked up some of the slack and broadened its base.
The company did not immediately begin producing rubber latex pillows, mattresses and mattress cores, all mainstays of Latex Foam Products, of course. ``But (Latex Foam Products) began buying products from us,'' said Thomas M. McLaughlin, vice president of sales for the firm's Industrial Foam Division. ``And that has helped our business.''
