DEAR DR. FASHION: I will be traveling to Italy soon and am wondering what kind of hosiery to wear with a pair of black suede clogs with closed backs. With regular-length slacks this isn't a concern, but what about with cropped pants or skirts? Are ankle-high sport socks appropriate? I'm thinking these shoes are good for walking and for casual evening wear. _D.M., e-mail
