For wireless platform developer Broadbeam Inc., developers are essential to bringing applications out of the tab and into the mass market.
Equipped with rugged computers operating over Cingular Interactive Inc.'s data network, 150 insurance appraisers for Bloomington, Ill.-based Country Companies Insurance Group have reduced their daily workload by about an hour, thanks to an automated estimating system that lets them transmit claims information from the field. That not only saves the appraisers time and the company money, but by reducing claim delays, it makes customers happier as well.
