With the battle for attention on the pet food shelves as fierce as the battle far attention between two Rottweilers, pet food companies are working to find ways to differentiate themselves.

One tool growing in use for such differentiation is the packaging itself. For years pet food has been packaged in multiwall paper bags, often laced with a woven closure and, often, easily torn apart by a hungry pooch or somehow soaked into a breakdown.
