Sep. 2--SHAREHOLDERS UNCONCERNED WITH CEO PAY: There has long been a populist movement critical of the high pay of chief executive officers in many of the largest corporations.
But a study shows that those in a position to actually do something about it -- company shareholders -- have consistently voted against efforts to reduce CEO pay.
Margaret Shackell Dowell, an assistant professor in the Department of Accountancy in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, took part in the study on executive pay.
