Ah, the paradox of OxyContin. It's a miracle drug, a time-release marvel for the terminally ill and others seeking relief from pain. Yet its very name freezes pharmacists in fear of being robbed or worse by the sellers and addicts who abuse it.
OxyContin also has Massachusetts politicians in a spin, seeking ways to walk a fine line - safeguarding businesses that have suffered stickups and those who fear they're next, without making it hard for legitimate users to get the drug that sustains them.
