ABIX via COMTEX) -- There has been a risk of fraud and misappropriation at a Western Australian Aboriginal health service group, an official report says. The risks were disclosed in a study in April 2001 of the Bega Garnbirringu Health Service in the eastern goldfields region, by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. The damning report identified poor financial management, which had jeopardised the service's ability to function in the area for which it had been funded. The Australian and Western Australian health departments commissioned the study at the request of the health service.
