The Milwaukee Brewers started a health checkup Saturday as Tyler Houston was activated from the disabled list and started at third base and right-handed pitcher Jeff D'Amico was activated to pitch one of the games of a doubleheader at Pittsburgh on Monday.
Pitcher Mark Leiter also was activated, while pitcher Jimmy Haynes could return to action in the next couple of weeks, the team said.
General manager Dean Taylor said getting the players back will give him and his staff an opportunity to evaluate the overall health of what has been a very unhealthy team.
