Pediculosis capitis (head lice) is an infestation that strikes many children. The diagnosis is usually made by the child's parent or a school nurse. There are a number of different treatments, many over-the-counter, available for eradicating the lice.
When treating head lice you are really treating two different stages of the head louse: the adult lice and the eggs (nits). If you don't kill both, then the infestation will persist.
