Three fires set early Saturday at the State Fair caused relatively minor damage, but a police officer suffered smoke inhalation and a paramedic was burned while extinguishing the last one, police said.
State Fair police Cmdr. Rick Klein said the person who set the blazes is believed to have used charcoal lighter fluid to start them. He also said investigators found "personal property" at one of the fire scenes, but he declined to elaborate.
Soon after midnight, police were called to the All American Recreation display on Underwood St. near Carnes Av. A work station was on fire.
