PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local QATAR FERTILIZER CO. (QAFCO) is currently gearing-up to build a new fertilizer plant in the country. In so doing, QAFCO recently awarded a letter of intent for the construction of the new complex to Germany-based KRUPP UHDE. According to the terms of the tentative contract, KRUPP will be responsible for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.
The project, dubbed Qafco IV, will involve building: - A 3,500 ton per day (t/d) urea unit based on a license from
