Health Canada has issued an order that temporarily stops the sale of the veterinary drug carbadox in Canada on the basis that continued sale of the drug cannot be justified in light of the potential misuse and unintentional contamination of other products."
Health Canada issued a stop sale on carbadox Aug. 10 in a move aimed at "protecting consumers" until the completion of regulatory review. That review could lead to a permanent ban on the use of carbadox in Canada, said Health Canada.
