NEW RDA RECOMMENDS MORE VITAMIN C FOR SMOKERS /ADVANCE/NUTLEY, N.J., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The increased need for vitamin C in smokers has been officially recognized today in the newly-released 1989 RDAs (Recommended Dietary Allowances), which raised the RDA for vitamin C in smokers from 60 to "at least 100 mg of vitamin C daily." The RDAs are issued approximately every five years by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences.
