NEW YORK, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P for the first time lowered the rating on three senior/junior pass-through issues.
The action affects $126 million of Comfed Savings Bank mortgage pass-throughs, series 1988-3, 1988-4 and 1988-6; lowered to 'A+' from 'AA'.
The action reflects the pools' high level of delinquencies and foreclosures, the increased loan balances due to negative amortization, and the softness in New England real estate values. Yet, investors are still well protected against loss as reflected by the rating.
