AURORA, SCHOOL ON `SPRAWL OF SHAME' ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP CHIDES DEVELOPMENTS AS POOR PUBLIC POLICY IN ITS ANNUAL REPORT.(Local)

A new high school in Clear Creek County and Aurora's plans to allow development farther onto the plains topped an environmental group's annual Colorado Sprawl of Shame report.

The Colorado Public Interest Research Group, or CoPIRG, targeted 10 ``sprawling'' developments the group says represent poor public policy because they conflict with a community's wishes, require costly extension of public services such as roads, or unnecessarily destroy farmland and open space.
