Lee Gechas, the urban naturalist for the Centers for Nature Education at Baltimore Woods, leads a Saturday morning stroll through one of Syracuse's lesser-known neighborhood parks: Morningside Heights in the Syracuse University area.
The guided walk includes stops at the Morningside Community Gardens, the hidden stone staircase and the water towers at the top of the hill.
Meet at 10 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Ed Smith Elementary School, at Lancaster Avenue and Broad Street. Gechas says he plans to search for the old stone toboggan run and explore Ed Smith's nature trail.
