THE creation of new businesses in St Helens' less well off communities has been lifted by a pounds 470,000 Phoenix Fund grant.
The fund is targeted at Pathways areas where opportunities for enterprising people with commercial ideas are limited.
Kath Boullen, Chief Executive at St Helens Chamber stated "Today, I am delighted to announce our successful bid for Phoenix Fund monies - Enterprising St Helens - which aims to increase the formation of private and social businesses in St Helens' deprived areas and to drive the importance of enterprise for all .
