GOVERNOR TO KICK OFF OPERATION OF FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

Gov. James J. Blanchard will kick off operation of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) -- a high-tech, crime-fighting tool which will revolutionize the way law-enforcement investigators track down criminals -- at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the cafeteria of the General Office Building of the Secondary Complex, 7150 Harris Drive, Lansing.
