DETROIT _ The Tigers split games Saturday and Sunday with the Toronto Blue Jays, but the Comerica Park grounds crew was 0-for-2 for the weekend.
The Tigers lost Sunday, 6-3, and the grounds crew was overmatched by a sudden downpour.
On Saturday, the storm hit so fast that the crew couldn't cover the entire infield before the soggy tarp became too heavy to move. After a 1-hour, 40-minute delay, the game was resumed and completed with the Tigers winning, 4-3.
No such luck Sunday _ for the grounds crew or the Tigers. There were two storms that struck, one in the sixth inning, another in the ninth.
