Florida CUs Seek Huge FOM Swath
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-Tropical Financial CU, the state's 10th largest credit union which recently converted from federal charter, has applied to state regulators to expand its field of membership to serve more than two million residents in Broward and Sarasota counties and the city of Boca Raton.
If approved, it would be the largest FOM in the Sunshine State. Separately, Power 1 CU, Hialeah, has applied to serve about one million residents in the municipalities of Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Jupiter Beach, Juno Beach and Jupiter.
