STATE PRISON CRISIS TOPIC OF SENATE JUDICIARY HEARING
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Senate Judiciary Committee will begin an inquiry into the recent uprisings at Camp Hill and Huntingdon state prisons on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 9:30 a.m., in Room 8E(B), East Wing of the Main Capitol, Harrisburg.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Stewart J. Greenleaf (R-Montgomery) said the prison riots raise "serious questions of public safety, prison security and crisis management." He said the hearing will provide lawmakers the opportunity to learn what prompted the riots and what allowed the situation at Camp Hill to get out of control.
