Telia said it has launched its GPRS services. Telia's first GPRS service is Telia Mobile InTouch, a mobile communication service through which customers can enter their own contacts and then communicate with them easily via chat, SMS or e-mail.

The company also said that the level of SMS traffic for the first six months of this year was up 20 per cent compared with the same period last year.
