For the British contingent at least, the buzz about last month's Cannes International Advertising Festival is often as much about who did what to whom as it is about who won what for whom.
The current financial gloom enveloping the ad industry certainly did little to curtail the culture of excess this year. Having, in true journalistic style, figged my way around assorted villas, exclusive restaurants and yachts, all in the name of research. I can reveal that the spirit of Cannes is alive and well. Or at least as well as can be expected ...
