Linda Neilson left her office in the Minneapolis Grain Exchange Building and headed home Tuesday morning, her heart sinking for her co-workers who worked in the World Trade Center.
"It doesn't feel safe being anywhere anymore in this country," said Neilson, an auditor with the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Tuesday, the typically robust floors of the Minneapolis Grain Exchange were stilled, as were all U.S. financial markets, after Tuesday's terrorist attacks. The Grain Exchange will remain closed today.
"It's hard to believe, hard to comprehend anything like that," Neilson said.
