ABIX via COMTEX) -- Western Australians (WA) having extramarital affairs may unwittingly face maintenance and property claims. Legal experts are saying this is a possible outcome of new WA legislation covering people in de facto relationships. The Bill before parliament is designed to equalise rights of partners in de factor relationships with those in conventional marriages, and to provide de facto partners access to the Family Law Court. WA Attorney General, Jim McGinty, has dismissed the warnings and says the legislation has his confidence.
