Low testosterone levels in men with AIDS, according to study
Men with AIDS have significantly lower levels of testosterone than healthy men, according to a study by researchers at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.[1]
Adrian Dobs MD, an assistant professor of medicine at the school, and her colleagues reached that conclusion after studying 19 seropositive but asymptomatic men, nine men with AIDS-Related Condition, and 42 men with AIDS. Their testosterone levels were compared with those of healthy men not infected with HIV.
