Norfolk Southern Railway Company today advised New York state and city officials that it is offering free transportation service for removing non-hazardous construction and demolition debris from the World Trade Center site.

Norfolk Southern has arranged to provide up to 1,000 heavy-duty rail cars that will be staged in the North Jersey Shared Assets Area. Norfolk Southern will transport the debris to disposal sites on its rail system.
