MELBOURNE, Sept 12 Asia Pulse - Cranswick Premium Wines Ltd (ASX:CEW) expects a pick up in profits this year after a 56 per cent slump in its 2000/01 result.

Cranswick managing director Graham Cranswick-Smith said the company would focus on the high volume global market segment after selling its Haselgrove business in July for A$19 million (US$9.83 million).

The wine group posted a A$3.02 million (US$1.56 million) net profit for the year to June 30, 2001, down from the A$6.82 million (US$3.53 million) posted in the previous year which was boosted by a A$1.8 million (US$931,320) extraordinary gain.
