SAN JOSE, Calif. _ San Jose has settled one of four lawsuits that seeks to prevent Cisco Systems from transforming Coyote Valley into a busy campus for high-tech workers.
As part of the deal with the city of Salinas, the networking giant will limit the scope of its development and take into consideration the housing needs of the area as a result of the project.
Although the settlement moved Cisco a step closer to building a 20,000-worker campus, the company said Thursday it is in no hurry to develop the 688-acre parcel. The company is one of many hit hard by Silicon Valley's economic slump.
