TURGUT OZAL ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC

WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The Embassy of the Turkish Republic released the following biography of Turgut Ozal who today was elected president of the Turkish Republic by the Turkish Grand National Assembly. He will formally take office Nov. 9, 1989.

President-elect Turgut Ozal was born in Malatya, Turkey, on Oct. 13, 1927.
