Strega: witch. Nona: Grandmother. Well, almost. A sensitive Italian might suggest that the correct spelling for grandmother is "nonna," but I have seen it spelled both ways.
Nevertheless, Strega Nona is a hot contemporary Italian restaurant on Southport. The restaurant, which is part of the Carlucci Hospitality Group (think back to one of the early great Italian restaurants in town, Carlucci on Halsted) has been around for some six years now.
