New Mexico State Game Commission has approved an increase in elk licenses in elk licenses for the 2001-02 big-game hunting seasons. Rather than adopt an Increase of 20,000 elk licenses, as it originally requested, the commission chose to increase available licenses by roughly 2,500 over the number available for the 2000-01 hunting seasons.
The exact number is still being determined because the Department of Game and Fish was instructed to reduce by 50 percent ...
