This is a timely CME article regarding hypoactive sexual desire in women, the most common form of female sexual dysfunction. It is geared toward evaluation in a primary care setting. The author points out how women suffering with this may not specify this problem but instead will ask "to have their hormones checked." He reviews the different medications that interfere with desire such as antidepressants (SSRIs), tranquilizers, cardiovascular agents, and oral contraceptives.
