A Parish resident who interned at the Oswego County District Attorney's office two summers ago started Monday as an assistant district attorney at the office.
Greg Oakes, 26, will replace Mary Rain.
Rain, 38, of Fulton left the district attorney's office two weeks ago. She started last week at the Syracuse law firm of Byrne, Costello and Pickard. The firm specializes in collection and litigation services.
"I've reached a point where I need to go on and get more experience," Rain said recently while cleaning out her desk at the district attorney's office in Oswego.
