TOKYO, Sept 18 Asia Pulse - The holding company to be set up in April by Taisho Pharmaceutical Co. (TSE:4535) and Tanabe Seiyaku Co. (TSE:4508) will have about 1,500 sales representatives and an annual R&D budget of 60 billion yen (US$504 million), both ranking high in Japan, their presidents said Monday.
The aim of the merger is to "establish a foundation of sales and R&D that will enable the firm to continuously market internationally competitive drugs," Taisho President Akira Uehara said.
