High-Tech: Once 500 Strong, Oregon Firm Shutters Office in S.D.

InFocus Corp., an Oregon-based manufacturer of multimedia projectors, said it has closed the San Diego office of a company once known as Proxima ASA, which it purchased last year.

Key factors influencing the decision were the cost savings and increased efficiencies associated with consolidating as many corporate functions as possible, according to a company statement released last week.

Repeated phone calls to obtain further information about the closure from InFocus' corporate headquarters in Wilsonville, a suburb of Portland, were not returned.
