Seats and shelving are usually unexciting, but not when they're works of art designed by cutting-edge architect and artist Ron Arad, who recently visited Denver to receive the Gio Ponti International Design Award from the Denver Art Museum.

Items from Arad's contemporary furniture collections were available for purchase courtesy of the Light Spot, the lighting-fixture store where the Gio Ponti ceremony was held, and Kartell, an Italian furniture company that offered for sale autographed Arad items such as the FPE side chair and Bookworm wall-mounted shelving unit.
