The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Alistair Darling has today published a Report by the Benefit Fraud Inspectorate (BFI) into the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit and counter fraud activity by East Lothian Council. This is the second report on East Lothian Council by BFI.
The Council paid out almost GBP18 million in benefits in 1999/2000.
