Virgin Records UK is to trial a new CD fingerprinting technology which will drive fans to a streaming site of its band Embrace's new album, 'If You've Never Been'.
The promotion is designed to reward the loyalty of previous buyers and also to give fans around the world access to the entire album.
The CD fingerprinting involves a new technology called CD Rights Detection which allows owners of the band's debut album, 'The Good Will Out', exclusive access to the new album streamed in its entirety two weeks before release, and to pre-order it online at a discount.
